在这部魔幻太阳短片/音乐片中,第一部短片是1966年由“实验媒介”（Experimental Intermedia）的创始人美国艺术家菲尔·尼布洛克（Phill Niblock，1933-）拍摄的《魔幻太阳》。菲尔·尼布洛克是著名的极简主义先锋音乐家，同时也兼做实验电影，《魔幻太阳》是他的第一部作品，用胶片反色和大量的特写镜头拍摄Sun Ra & his Solar Arkestra演奏一首长达18分钟的曲子。整部影片给我的感觉就是两个字 -“迷幻”，无论是影像还是音乐都可以使人产生一种幻觉。Sun Ra就不用多说了，美国著名的自由爵士钢琴家，他和他的Solar Arkestra乐队在上世纪六十年代创作出了也许是史上最天才的先锋爵士乐，并影响了后来一大批新迷幻摇滚及太空摇滚乐队。
